Hanging shelves isn't the same as setting outdoor grade. See real laser levels first, then refine by project, coverage, distance and receiver needs—without a forced quiz.

SOLVE THE PROBLEM · THEN FIND THE TOOL
A layout problem? Check the job before comparing lasers.
Your full model list remains below. Problem guides explain when a new tool is useful—and when it is not.
Coverage matters more than the number printed on the box.
01 / Cross-line
Horizontal and vertical lines for pictures, shelves and one-wall layouts.
02 / 360° horizontal
Level reference around a room. Not necessarily a three-plane laser.
03 / 3×360° / 4×360°
One or two horizontal planes and two vertical 360° planes for room-wide layout.
04 / Rotary + detector
Long-distance elevation checks outdoors. Slope work needs confirmed grade controls.

Optional: any selection will update the matches immediately.
Outdoor rule: green light alone is not a guaranteed outdoor solution. Bright sunlight typically requires the exact receiver supported by the laser model. A 3×360° line laser is not a rotary grading laser.

Maybe you don't need a laser at all.
For one picture or a short shelf, an ordinary spirit level may be enough. Compare costs and setup before buying.

✓ Manufacturer-stated fit
Green cross-line, 100 ft visible, ±1/8 in at 30 ft, pulse mode, optional DW0892G detector to 165 ft.
− Important limitation
Detector DW0892G is sold separately. Do not expect the green line to be visible in full sunlight.

How we prevent bad matches
The engine checks manufacturer-reported hard requirements before sorting by relevance.
1 · Range is not always comparable
Visible-line range and detector-assisted range are different conditions. Rotary kit ranges may use a different measurement convention, so compare the full source context.
2 · The receiver must match
A green beam alone cannot guarantee outdoor use. Check the named receiver and whether it is actually included before buying.
3 · Sloped grade is a different job
Rotary laser and documented slope control are necessary for supported grading recommendations. Three 360° lines do not replace grade controls.
Before you buy a laser level
Common questions about outdoor use, receiver compatibility and different kinds of 360° coverage.
Will a green laser be visible in full sunlight?
Not reliably. For distance outdoors, select a model with explicitly documented receiver compatibility, use the correct detector and check its working range.
Is a 3×360° laser the same as a rotary laser?
No. Three 360° line planes are meant for layout work; rotary laser systems paired with receivers are used for long-distance leveling and grade checks.
Can I set a sloped driveway with any rotary laser?
No. Sloped grading requires suitable slope controls and correct surveying procedure. This preview only marks slope support as verified when the manufacturer explicitly describes it.
Is a laser needed to hang a single picture?
Often not. A standard spirit level may be the simpler and less expensive option.
